Who Is Wise And Will Observe These Things?

I. Introduction:

A. The wicked do not consider the works of the Lord (Psalms 28:1-5).

  1. Their ignorance is because of the blindness of their heart (Ephesians 4:17-19).
  2. They are not seekers (Psalms 119:155).
B. On the other hand, the wise are observant and desire to know (Proverbs 1:1-7, Proverbs 9:9, Proverbs 12:1, and Proverbs 18:15).

II. Body: Psalms 107:1-43

A. The knowledge to be thankful for the goodness of God (Psalms 118:1).

  1. Those of old for physical redemption, us for spiritual (Colossians 1:12-14).
  2. Those of old for deliverance from their woes and enemies, us for eternal deliverance from the wrath to come (I Thessalonians 1:10).
B. For God allowing repentance (II Chronicles 7:14, Colossians 2:10-13, and James 4:6-10).

C. To know the true and living God who can work wonders (Exodus 15:11).

  1. Knowing that the greatest wonder is yet to come (I Thessalonians 4:13-18).
  2. Taking hold of that lively hope of salvation in the end after we have endured whatever this life throws at us (I Peter 1:3-9).

III. Conclusion: Hosea 14:9
