Your Last Words
Introduction: Making plans for the future is natural. Animals prepare for winter with food storage and shelter preparations. Humans do the same. We prepare for death as well. In the Newspaper there was a couple that through cable link from Butler, PA to Pittsburgh, PA shared their last moments. What are your last words going to be if given the opportunity?

I.   Some Biblical Last Words

Christ – Luke 23:33-46 and John 19:30

Paul – II Timothy 4:1-8

Stephen – Acts 7:60

What can you tell from the three examples above? THEY WERE PREPARED TO DIE! Amos 4:12-13 – Prepare to meet God

      II.   Being Truly Prepared
Life is short – Proverbs 27:1, Job 14:1-2, and James 4:13-14

Being prepared is being obedient – Exodus 24:7, Hebrews 5:8-9, I Peter 4:17 and II Thessalonians 1:8-9

You cannot be obedient and disobedient at the same time – Romans 6:16-18

III.   Do Not Have Your Last Words Be…
I was almost persuaded – Acts 26:19-32

I need more time – Matthew 25:1-13

I hope he does not know about (speaking of God knowing about a sin) _________ - Romans 14:12 and II Corinthians 5:10

Conclusion: What do you want to be saying in your last words? Make it so that you can tell your loved ones "See you on the other side"! The only way to do so is obey the Gospel Mark 16:15-16 and make sure your loved ones have too.
