(Exodus 3:11) “And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?” (Exodus 3:13) “And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?” (Exodus 4:1) “And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The Lord hath not appeared unto thee.” (Exodus 4:10) “And Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.” Christians today reflect the same attitude that Moses had. Moses made excuses to try and get out of doing work for the Lord. Christians should take note of how God felt about Moses and his attempts to free himself from doing God’s will. (Exodus 4:14) “And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses…” How many Christians today would want to anger God? Do we realize that our excuses make us failures (Luke 14:16-27)?
God gave us His only begotten son (John 3:16), and so many want to be unthankful for that great gift. Christians are failing in many ways to show their love for God. There is one request that the Lord has made and that request is all that the Christians need to do to show their love for Him. (John 14:15) “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” Will you be the same as Moses? Moses started off on the wrong foot but he followed through and completed the task of bringing the Israelites out of Egyptian bondage with God’s guidance and power (Exodus 13:17-18). Will you make a decision to turn your attitude around and stop using excuses if need be? (Matthew 7:21) “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” Although the Christian walk is a tough one we must have the attitude the Apostle Paul displayed: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” – Philippians 4:13
The Lord’s work needs to be done.
It is the Christian’s responsibility to do it. We need no excuses
in the church today. Workers are needed. The Lord will give
an inheritance to those that lead this life according to His will and remain
faithful unto death (II Timothy 4:6-8 and Revelation 2:10). Will
you make up your mind to be a worker for the Lord? Put your hand
to the plow and do not look back (Luke 9:62)!

I do not have great riches here
Nor do I hold this world’s wealth
dear
When death draws nigh I’ll shed no
tear
For then the Lord will draw me near.
Sorrow and pain we all shall know
As on our weary ways we go,
But over there we’ll find sweet peace
And from our troubles full release.
If by the Lord’s amazing grace
Someday we see Him in that place
‘Twill make the troubles of today
Forever from us fly away.
Inside the gates of that fair land
With the redeemed we’ll take our stand.
All tribulation left behind
A grand reward we then shall find.
Possessions sought by men below
Will never to that sweet land go,
That’s why we’re told to set our heart
On Heav’n whence we will ne’er depart.
O brother have you made your plans
To live with Him in that fair land?
Get ready now, O do not wait!
Time comes when it will be too late.

The latest trend among the youth in America is the Harry Potter movie. While the books have been around for a while it is the movie that is bringing forth action figures and all sorts of toys to draw children into the latest fad.
The question has been long asked: “is it wrong for children to read these books?” Parents need to make informed decisions on these matters. Is it good for your child to think that “black magic” is cool? I for one am a parent that will teach my children that sorcery, witchcraft, and all the like are damnable and are not cool by any means. The Bible teaches this both in the Old Law and the New Law (Nahum 3:4-5, Malachi 3:5-6, Acts 13:6-10, and Galatians 5:19-21).
Again, parents need to be informing
their children that there is great danger in witchcraft and there are those
in many communities who practice this religion of the devil. Christians
need to be prepared to help their children to know what God thinks of sorcery
and witchcraft.
