We Need to be More Zealous
By: Brian A. Yeager

Satan is very hard at work trying to blind the eyes of those who are lost, to keep them lost.  He is very subtle in his attempts to corrupt our minds from the simplicity that is in Christ (II Corinthians 11:3).  If we (Christians) are going to succeed in placing the Gospel of Christ into the hearts of the lost, we must be more zealous that than devil and his angels.  The devil has his own disciples employed with his “Ungreat Commission” to seek and destroy those who might want to obey the Lord (II Corinthians 11:12-15).

Mormonism – A Religion of the Devil Full of Zealous Workers

When your doorbell rings and you look out just to see two young men in white shirts with ties and a name badge; you know you are being visited by Mormon boys.  They come in and proceed to tell you that Joseph Smith, the founder of that religion, had visions and wrote a book called the Book of Mormon.  These young boys spend two years out knocking on doors, passing out flyers, and holding Book of Mormon studies.  They show great zeal.  It is a shame that the zeal they are displaying is benefiting the devil.  The Mormon religion is cursed, because it is founded upon “another gospel” (Galatians 1:8-9).

It would be nice if our brethren, who have the truth, would be as zealous when declaring the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  These agents of the devil out work those of us who need to be declaring the truth.  In a nut shell, that means more are being converted to error than to truth.  They carry about a diseased doctrine, and if we would be more zealous, we could follow up their work with the prescription that contains the cure for sin (Romans 1:16 and James 1:21).  We need to realize that the world is counting on us.  We need to hit the same doors they hit.  On the flipside of the coin, the devil is counting on us too.  He is counting on us to lack zeal and to be lazy.  Whose desires will you help meet?

Conclusion

Zeal is just another term for commitment and passion.  To take the Gospel into the world we must be passionate.  We must be committed to Christ enough to feel as though we are debtors to all men (Romans 1:14-17).  We need to look around and see that the works of Satan are growing stronger and his agents are working harder than we are.  Truth is very powerful, but it must be presented to be obeyed.  There are souls in the world crying “what must we do to be saved?”  Are you going to find them to tell them?  The devil is in a race to those people.  His goal will be to prevent us from planting the word of God within their hearts.  Are you going to let him win?  Let’s practice daily evangelism as did the disciples of the Lord in the First Century (Acts 5:42).  Let’s tell the devil that we are done being apathetic and we are going to be zealous.  Let’s make him work harder to no avail.  (Mark 16:15-16) “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”

What must one do to be saved (Acts 2:37)?  Hear and believe the Gospel (Mark 16:15-16), repent of their sins (Acts 3:19), confess Christ (Acts 8:37), and be baptized (immersed) for the remission of sins into the church (Acts 2:38, I Corinthians 12:12-13, and Galatians 6:3-5).  One must then remain faithful (Revelation 2:10).
