Using Proper Judgment
Introduction:A. As human beings we too often allow emotion, pride, anger, etc. to cloud our judgment:I. If We Seek the Lord’s Will - We Will Have to Be Just Judges of Ourselves1. Proverbs 28:26B. Righteous judgment does not come from seeking our own will: John 5:30

3. Ecclesiastes 7:91. To have proper judgment you must take counsel from the Lord: Psalms 1:1-2C. A Christian is to be “just” [observant of rule; what is right] and think on things that are just: Philippians 4:8
2. Proper judgment is not based upon appearance: John 7:24
3. You can judge properly by knowing what is right from what is wrong: Hebrews 5:141. If we are just we will be blessed: Proverbs 3:33

3. If we are just we will be able to increase in learning: Proverbs 9:9

3. No fellowship with works of darkness: Ephesians 5:111. The word abhor – “apostugeo” means “to dislike, abhor, have a horror of” –Thayer.
2. The word evil - “poneros” means “bad, of a bad nature or condition; in a physical sense: diseased or blind; in an ethical sense: evil wicked, bad.” –Thayer.
3. The messages of the Bible is a resounding “abhor that which is evil”:a. Deuteronomy 7:264. We are to be a people walking in good works: Ephesians 2:10

d. Amos 5:14-15A. Proper judgment is a broad subject. To have such however, is simple:1. Proverbs 3:5-6B. When we allow emotion, history, anger, etc. to cloud our judgment, we must be willing to acknowledge that and change it.
