Another Sermon Outline by Brian A. Yeager
To Whom Shall We Go?  Thou Has the Words...
I. Introduction: John 6:54-68
    A. First off, we need to understand that Christ is the source of eternal life
    (John 17:1-3).
    1. Christ is the “Good Shepard” (John 10:7-18).
    2. His purpose in life and death was to save us (John 3:17, John 5:34,
    and I Thessalonians 5:9-11).
    B. Secondly, we need to realize that Christ directs us into eternal life through
His word (Acts 13:26 and Ephesians 1:13).
    1. Life is brought to light through the Gospel (II Timothy 1:8-10).
    2. Think hard about Paul’s charge to Timothy (II Timothy 3:14-4:5).
    3. Are we thirsty (John 4:5-14 and Revelation 22:14-19)?

II. Body: There is no other source whereby we can be saved (Acts 4:10-12).
    A. Man doesn’t have the answers (Proverbs 20:24 and Jeremiah 10:23-24).
    1. This is why the scriptures tell us not to trust in man (Psalms 136:3-4,
    Isaiah 31:1, and Jeremiah 17:5).
    2. Trust God (II Chronicles 20:20, Psalms 62:7-8, and Psalms 118:8-9).
    B. Religious bodies that have been formed by men will not have the answers
    (Psalms 127:1; cf. I Timothy 3:15).
    1. God is not with those who’ve walked away from Him to do their own
    thing (II Chronicles 7:18-20).
    2. Those following the teachings of men will perish (Colossians 2:20-23).

    C. Some turn to “magic” or “soothsayers” for answers (Daniel 2:27-28; 5:7-8).
    1. Some try to hear from the grave (Luke 16:27-31).
    2. God gives the answers (Genesis 41:16-25; cf. II Peter 1:3).
    D. Folks our source has to be the Lord (Luke 2:27-32).
    1. The intentions of other sources are not just (I Timothy 6:3-5).
    2. The intentions of God are for our good (Psalms 55:22).

III. Conclusion:
    A. To speak of all that Christ has done for us is impossible (John 21:24-25).
    B. This one thing is sure, you cannot be saved without Christ being the source
    (John 5:24; 14:6).
    C. Hear the invitation (John 7:37).
