Some People You Can Expect To Be In Heaven

Introduction:

A. This lesson serves as a contrast lesson to last week’s “Some People You Can Expect Not to Be in Heaven
1. Those who are doing right will be encouraged to press on: Hebrews 12:1
2. Those who do not see themselves upward bound will be encouraged to:
a. Acknowledge that: Psalms 38:18
b. Repent: Ezekiel 14:6  (cf. Matthew 3:8)
B. We know we can see the unfaithfulness of some, but we can also see those who are faithful:
1. In His defense to keep from being stoned by the Jews, Jesus said: John 10:37-38
2. Acts 9:26-27
3. Romans 16:1-2
4. I Thessalonians 1:8
C. In this lesson ask yourself if you are heaven bound:
1. Ezekiel 18:27-28 “
2. Haggai 1:5
3. II Corinthians 13:5
4. Ask if you are doing all: Jeremiah 7:23
I. You Can Expect to See Dedicated Christians in Heaven
A. Those who make no excuses for themselves, or are simply being sorry (II Corinthians 7:9-10); they just make corrections when needed:
1. Psalms 119:59
2. Proverbs 28:13
3. Lamentations 3:40
4. Ezekiel 18:30
5. Zacchaeus is an example of repentance instead of excuses: Luke 19:1-10
B. Those who are willing to make sacrifices for God:
1. Learn by the example of Jesus: Luke 22:42
2. Daniel 3:8-18
3. Daniel 6:4-16
4. Hebrews 11:32-40
II. You Can Expect to See the Concerned Christian in Heaven
A. The goers and doers of the right ways will be those found in Heaven:
1. How many have verbally committed to the Lord without really meaning it (Matthew 21:28-32)?
2. Isaiah 6:8
3. John 15:10
4. John 14:31
B. Those concerned about spiritual matters are those who have their hearts and minds in the right places:
1.  Luke 10:27
2. Colossians 3:1-3
III. You Can Expect to See the Christian Who is a Finisher in Heaven
A. Those who are not seeking the glory here:
1. I Peter 4:11
2. Acts 3:12
3. II Corinthians 10:17-18
4. I Thessalonians 2:5-6
5. John 7:18
B. Those who know that good must be done tomorrow too (the good you did yesterday is not enough):
1. Romans 11:22
2. Colossians 1:21-23
Conclusion:
A. We should all desire to be in Heaven: Philippians 3:14
B. We should care enough for each other to help each other get there as well: I John 4:20
C. Are you heavenward bound?
1. Can you say you are doing as God expects?  Paul could: II Timothy 4:6-8
2. Does your life measure up?  God said to Belshazzar: Daniel 5:27
