1. Were the children of Israel expected to be holy?
    •        Yes, (Leviticus 19:2; 20:7; 26).
    •        While we don’t always cross reference every point in our study, it is significant to establish that we are
    expected to be holy too (Ephesians 1:4; 5:27 and I Peter 1:13-16).

2. Were the children of Israel expected to honor / fear their parents?
    •        Yes, (Leviticus 19:3; cf. Ephesians 6:1-2).

3. Were peace offerings to be offered by choice or to be forced upon the people?
    •        Choice (Leviticus 19:5).

4. Why were the children of Israel expected to leave some of their harvests in the field and some of the grapes in the
vineyard?
    •        For the poor and the stranger (Leviticus 19:9-10).

5. Was honesty expected of the children of Israel?
    •        Yes, lying and theft were both condemned by Moses’ Law (Leviticus 19:11-13).

6. Was there to be any respect of persons in judgment?
    •        No, the rich or poor should not be held above the other (Leviticus 19:15; cf. James 2:1-9).

7. Were talebearers in violation of the commands of God?
    •        Yes, (Leviticus 19:16; cf. Proverbs 18:8; 20:19; 26:20).

8. Was vengeance acceptable to God?
    •        No, (Leviticus 19:18; cf. Romans 12:18-21).

9. Why wouldn’t a betrothed bondmaid, who is not redeemed or freed, be put to death if she were to lie carnally with
a man?
    •        Because she was not free (Leviticus 19:20).
    •        If she were free, then death would be upon both parties (Deuteronomy 22:23-24).

10. When the children of Israel planted fruit trees in a new land, how long did they have to wait to eat of that fruit?
    •        Five years (Leviticus 19:23-25).

11. Would tattoos have been okay with the Lord?
    •        No, (Leviticus 19:28).

12. Prostitution does what to a land?
    •        The land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness (Leviticus 19:29).

13. Would the children of Israel look to mediums and wizards for answers?
    •        No, (Leviticus 19:31; 20:6).

14. Were older men to be shown respect under the Law of Moses?
    •        Yes, (Leviticus 19:32; cf. I Timothy 5:1-2).

15. How were strangers to be treated under the Law of Moses?
    •        As one of their own (Leviticus 19:33-34).
    •        With some exceptions (cf. Exodus 12:43-45).
    •        As many of the principles in this chapter, this too is under our law today (Hebrews 13:1-2).

    •        All of them (Leviticus 19:37; 20:22).

17. Was the penalty for giving children to Molech [Jeremiah 32:35] a light penalty?
    •        No, death was the penalty to that man and also those who overlooked this sin had God’s face against
    he and his family (Leviticus 20:1-5).
    •        Molech was the god of the Ammonites and Phoenicians.

18. What was the penalty for cursing one’s father or mother?
    •        Death (Leviticus 20:9).

19. Name three sexual sins that resulted in the death penalty:
    •        Adultery with another’s wife, both die (Leviticus 20:10).
    •        A man having sex with his father’s wife, both die (Leviticus 20:11).
    •        A man having sex with his daughter in-law, both die (Leviticus 20:12).
    •        Homosexuality, both die (Leviticus 20:13).
    •        If a man take his wife and her mother, they all are burnt with fire (Leviticus 20:14).
    •        Bestiality, the man / woman and the beast die (Leviticus 20:15-16).

20. Name two sexually related sins that would cause the guilty to be cut off from among the people:
    •        “And if a man shall take his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's daughter, and see her
    nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their
    people: he hath uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity” (Leviticus 20:17).
    •        “And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath
    discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off
    from among their people” (Leviticus 20:18).

    •        Taking your brother’s wife or uncle’s wife (Leviticus 20:20-21).
