He That Walketh in Darkness Knoweth not Whither he Goeth
Introduction:
A. Text: John 12:35I. Walking in the Light Will Lead to Life While Walking in Darkness Will Cause us to Fall1. The light that was with them was Christ Himself: John 12:46B. While Jesus aims to be the light leading to salvation, Satan aims to be the darkness that leads us to being lost: II Corinthians 4:3-4
2. Following the Lord keeps on from being in darkness: John 8:121. We need to be aware of the devils devices: II Corinthians 2:11
3. We can accomplish not giving place to the devil by: Ephesians 6:11
4. Ultimately if we: James 4:7
A. As Christians we were once in darkness but now are in the light: Ephesians 5:8II. Allow God to Light the Path Through This Dark World1. We have been delivered from darkness: Colossians 1:12-13B. We need to walk in the light, who is Christ, that we may have eternal life: I John 1:1-3
2. We therefore should not be of darkness: I Thessalonians 5:4-51. Follow our light, Jesus Christ, to eternal life: John 10:27-28
2. We better not be pretenders: I John 1:5-6
A. Allow the word of God to be your guide: Psalms 119:105III. While Some Would Try to Turn off the Light and Enjoy the Darkness, You Can’t Do Both!1. Psalms 17:4B. Falling is too easy when in the darkness: I John 2:11
2. II Peter 1:191. Proverbs 4:19C. The reality is, some like the darkness and the ignorance of where they are going: John 3:19-20
2. Notice the servant of the Lord teaches, but who acts on that teaching and what is the result of acting on that teaching: II Timothy 2:24-26
3. If we do fall we must allow God to lead us back: Micah 7:7-81. Romans 10:1-3; 16-18
2. It is the blindness of the heart that allows this ignorance: Ephesians 4:17-18
A. You cannot be a partaker in the Lord and in evil: I Corinthians 10:21Conclusion: Romans 13:12-141. Isaiah 5:2B. We must remove all sin and darkness from our lives: Ephesians 5:11
