God Is…

Outline By: Brian A. Yeager (http://www.wordsoftruth.net)

Introduction:

A. No matter how long of a list of things about God we could make, we’ll still not cover it all (Romans 11:33-36).

B. This very small list is to help us appreciate that we serve a balanced God (Exodus 34:6-7 and Romans 11:22).

C. We have to remind ourselves that understanding God helps us understand how we’re supposed to act (Ephesians 5:1).

1. There needs to be caution here (i.e. Romans 12:17-21).

2. Don't think this point makes man God either (Isaiah 31:3).

Body: Exodus 10:1-2

1. A consuming fire (Deuteronomy 4:24, Nahum 1:3-6, and Hebrews 12:29).

2. The source of salvation (Psalms 68:20, Romans 6:23, and I John 5:11-12).

3. Merciful (Deuteronomy 5:10, II Chronicles 30:9, II Corinthians 1:3, and Jude 21).

7. God of gods and Lord of lords (Deuteronomy 10:17, Psalms 47:7, and I Timothy 6:14-15).

8. Eternal and living (Deuteronomy 33:27, Joshua 3:10, Job 36:26, Hebrews 1:8-9, and Hebrews 10:31).

9. Of peace (I Corinthians 14:33 and Philippians 4:9).

10. Against those who forsake Him (Joshua 23:16, Ezra 8:22, and Hebrews 10:26-38).

11. Honest (Deuteronomy 32:4, Psalms 145:17, II Corinthians 1:18, and Titus 1:2).

12. Angry with the wicked (Psalms 7:11, Numbers 25:3-4, and Colossians 3:5-6).

13. Love (II Corinthians 13:11, I John 4:8, and I John 4:16).

14. To be feared and held in reverence (I Chronicles 16:25, Psalms 89:7, Matthew 10:28, Philippians 2:12, and Hebrews 12:28).

15. No respecter of persons (Acts 10:34-35 and Romans 2:11; cf. Romans 2:2 and Galatians 6:7-9).
