A LOOK AT THE
NIV
Introduction:
I am certainly no scholar nor do I
claim such abilities. However, I have studied God's word as all Christians
should (John 5:39, II Timothy 2:15, and Acts 17:10-11). Having studied
some things in God's word there are some clear errors I can see in the
translation known as the NIV. This study should point out that the
NIV does have the right initials. (Non-Inspired
Version).
From the error of changing fornication into "marital unfaithfulness" in
Matthew 5:32;19:19 to the taking away of many passages this version of
the bible is truly a perversion of GOd's word.
One other thing we should note that
takes only common sense is the fact that when the NIV takes a whole passage
away they still suggest it exists by leaving the number of the passage.
You will see more on that as this study goes forth. All scripture
quotes that are not noted as NIV quotes are from the King James Version.
Here are those things:
THREE
HUGE DEADLY ERRORS IN THE NIV
In calling something deadly I mean
that it can certainly cause one to loose their soul. The NIV has
three errors that so easily reach this point.
-
NIV Psalms 51:5 "Surely I was sinful at
birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me."
Biblical reasons this is wrong:
1. Sin is breaking God’s Law
I John 3:4
2. Sin is not passed on Ezekiel
18:20
3. You are pure until you sin
Ezekiel 28:15
4. Man causes himself to be
a sinner Ecclesiastes 7:29 “Lo, this only have I found, that God hath
made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.”
5. Sin has do be done by someone
realizing right and wrong James 4:17 “Therefore to him that knoweth
to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”
6. Can a baby sin? God
says that we are to become as these little children not little sinners
Matthew 18:3.
7. Out of this doctrine comes
infant baptism.
a. Out of nine conversion examples
in the book of Acts not one time was a baby converted (Acts 2:36-41, Acts
8:5-13, Acts 8:26-39, Acts 9:1-20, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 16:13-15, Acts 16:23-34,
Acts 18:8, and Acts 19:1-7).
b. Can a baby believe in God?
You cannot separate belief from baptism (Mark 16:15-16).
-
NIV Romans 10:10 "For it is with your
heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that
you confess and are saved."
Biblical reasons this is wrong:
If confession was enough why did the
Eunuch not stop at that (Acts 8:37)? [If you are using the NIV you
will have to look at another version to read Acts 8:37, the NIV has taken
it out. Again, see # 7 a above.
-
NIV John 3:16 "For God so loved the
world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in
him shall not perish but have eternal life."
1. If one is saved by faith
alone explain why there are no examples of this post Calvary. (See
point 7 a above for how many examples of baptism there are)
2. Jesus said faith and baptism
not faith alone Mark 16:15-16.
3. Jesus stated (John 3:5) "Jesus
answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water
and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."
4. Read James 1:19. If
we are saved by faith alone why did Jesus condemn the devil and his angels
to hell (Matthew 25:41)?
5. Read James 2:19-26 and explain
how God says we are NOT saved by faith alone and why the NIV contradicts
itself here with John 3:16?
THE
NIV TAKES AWAY FROM WHO CHRIST IS
TAKES AWAY
“…GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH…”
NIV 1 Timothy 3:16 "Beyond all
question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was
vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations,
was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory."
THE NIV MAKES CHRIST UNEQUAL WITH
GOD
NIV Philippians 2:6 "Who, being
in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be
grasped"
JOSEPH WAS NOT CHRIST FATHER (See
JOHN 3:16)
NIV Luke 2:33 "The child's father
and mother marveled at what was said about him."
NIV Luke 2:43 "After the Feast was
over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind
in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it."
ONE AND ONLY???? (SEE
LUKE 3:38, JOB 1:6, PHILIPPIANS 2:15 AND I JOHN 3:2 IN THE KJV)
NIV John 1:14 "The Word became
flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory
of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and
truth."
ONE AND ONLY????
NIV John 1:18 "No one has ever
seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father's
side, has made him known."
ONE AND ONLY AS WELL AS FAITH ALONE?????????
NIV John 3:16 "For God so loved
the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes
in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
(SEE JAMES 2:19-26)
THE NIV TAKES AWAY FROM SOME OF
THOSE THAT WORSHIPPED CHRIST (Compare the following with the
KJV or NKJV and see that the word worship is removed).
NIV Matthew 8:2 "A man with leprosy
came and knelt before him and said, "Lord, if you are willing, you can
make me clean."
NIV Matthew 9:18 "While he was saying
this, a ruler came and knelt before him and said, "My daughter has just
died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live."
NIV Matthew 15:25 "The woman came
and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said."
NIV Matthew 18:26 "The servant
fell on his knees before him. `Be patient with me,' he begged, `and I will
pay back everything."
NIV Matthew 20:20 "Then the mother
of Zebedee's sons came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down, asked
a favor of him."
NIV Mark 5:6 "When he saw Jesus
from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him."
NIV Mark 15:19 "Again and again
they struck him on the head with a staff and spit on him. Falling on their
knees, they paid homage to him."
WHY DOES THE NIV NOT
WANT CHRIST WORSHIPED?
Luke 4:6-8 "And the devil said
unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that
is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore
wilt worship me, all shall be thine. And Jesus answered and said
unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship
the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve."
THE
NIV VIOLATES ADDING AND TAKING FROM THE WORD TERRIBLY!
See: Deuteronomy 4:2, Proverbs 30:6,
and Revelations 22:18-19 KJV
Think about this passages as you see
how much the NIV takes away Luke 8:12 "Those by the way side are they
that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their
hearts, lest they should believe and be saved."
(Notice the numbering...)
NIV Matthew 18:10-12
10. "See that you do not
look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels
in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.
12. "What do you think?
If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not
leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered
off?
NIV Acts 8:36-38
36. As they traveled along
the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water.
Why shouldn't I be baptized?"
38. And he gave orders
to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the
water and Philip baptized him.
NIV Matthew 17:20-22
20. He replied, "Because you
have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small
as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, `Move from here to there'
and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. "
22. When they came together
in Galilee, he said to them, "The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into
the hands of men.
NIV Matthew 18:10-12
10. "See that you do not look
down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven
always see the face of my Father in heaven.
12. "What do you think?
If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not
leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered
off?
NIV Matthew 23:13-15
13. "Woe to you, teachers of
the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in
men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter
who are trying to.
15. "Woe to you, teachers
of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea
to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as
much a son of hell as you are.
NIV Mark 7:15-17
15. Nothing outside a
man can make him `unclean' by going into him. Rather, it is what comes
out of a man that makes him `unclean.' "
17. After he had left
the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about this parable.
NIV Mark 9:43-47
43. If your hand causes you
to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with
two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out.
45. And if your foot causes
you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than
to have two feet and be thrown into hell.
47. And if your eye causes
you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of
God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell,
NIV Mark 11:25-27
25. And when you stand
praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your
Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. "
27. They arrived again
in Jerusalem, and while Jesus was walking in the temple courts, the chief
priests, the teachers of the law and the elders came to him.
NIV Mark 15:27-29
27. They crucified two robbers
with him, one on his right and one on his left.
29. Those who passed by
hurled insults at him, shaking their heads and saying, "So! You who are
going to destroy the temple and build it in three days,
NIV Mark 16:9

manuscripts and other ancient witnesses do not have Mark 16:9-20.]]
NIV Luke 17:35-37

grain together; one will be taken and the other left. "
37. "Where, Lord?" they
asked. He replied, "Where there is a dead body, there the vultures
will gather."
NIV Luke 23:16-18
16. Therefore, I will
punish him and then release him. "
18. With one voice they
cried out, "Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us!"
NIV John 5:3-5

people used to lie--the blind, the lame, the paralyzed.

the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water.
Why shouldn't I be baptized?"
38. And he gave orders
to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the
water and Philip baptized him.
NIV Acts 15:33-35
33. After spending some
time there, they were sent off by the brothers with the blessing of peace
to return to those who had sent them.
35. But Paul and Barnabas
remained in Antioch, where they and many others taught and preached the
word of the Lord.
NIV Acts 24:6-8
6. and even tried to desecrate
the temple; so we seized him.
8. By examining
him yourself you will be able to learn the truth about all these charges
we are bringing against him."
NIV Acts 28:28-30

25. Now to him who is
able to establish you by my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ,
according to the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past,
NIV John 7:52
[[The earliest and most reliable manuscripts
and other ancient witnesses do not have John 7:53-8:11.]]
THERE GOES THE THREE THAT BEAR RECORD
IN HEAVEN
NIV 1 John 5:7
7. For there are three that testify:
PURE
CONTRADICTION AND IGNORANCE
(The following quoted material is
from another other of an unknown name)
“COLOSSIANS 1:14: The KJB reads, "In
whom we have redemption THROUGH HIS BLOOD, even the forgiveness of sins:"
The NIV reads, "In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."
The NIV rips out the precious words
"THROUGH HIS BLOOD"! Friend, redemption is ONLY "THROUGH HIS BLOOD". Hebrews
9:22, reads, ". . . without shedding of BLOOD is no remission." That old
song says, "What can wash away my sins, NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS!"
The NIV perverts Mark 1:2,3 into a
LIE! The NIV reads "It is written in Isaiah the prophet: I will send my
messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way-a voice of one calling
in the desert, Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him."
It is NOT written in Isaiah! "I will send my messenger ahead of you, who
will prepare your way" - is found in Malachi 3:1! The King James correctly
reads: "As it is written in the PROPHETS, . . ." A better translation!
Easier to read - BY A LIE!
Psalms 119:160 says, "Thy word is
TRUE. . ." John 17:17 says, ". . . thy word is TRUTH." Titus 1:2 clearly
says, ". . . God that CANNOT LIE" How could the God of Titus 1:2 be the
God of Mark 1:2,3 in the NIV!? IT IS IMPOSSIBLE! For Hebrews 6:18 clearly
declares, ". . . it was IMPOSSIBLE for God to LIE" It is impossible for
the LIES in the NIV to be the words of GOD! Whose words are they? I'll
give you a hint - Jesus Christ calls him "A LIAR, and the father of it"
in John 8:44!
The NIV again openly LIES in 2 Samuel
21:19, ". . . Elhanan son of Jaare-Oregim the Bethlehemite killed Goliath
the Gittite, who had a spear with a shaft like a weaver's rod." What 8-year-old
doesn't know that David killed Goliath?
Romans 1:18-32 describes the "path
to perversion" and verse 25, describes their decline, "Who changed the
TRUTH of God into a LIE. . ."! Not surprisingly, The NIV perverts Romans
1:25 from "CHANGED the truth of God INTO a lie" to "EXCHANGED the truth
of God FOR a lie"!
Don't look for the "mercyseat" in the
NIV - GONE!
Don't look for "Jehovah" in the NIV
- GONE!
Don't look for the "Godhead" in the
NIV - GONE!
The NIV removes wonderful Bible "terms"
like remission, regeneration, impute, propitiation, new testament and many
others!
Here's a small (very small) sampling
of words removed in the NIV!
Matt. 6:13, "For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."
Matt. 15:8, "This people draweth nigh
unto me with their mouth"
Matt. 19:9, "and whoso marrieth her
which is put away doth commit adultery."
Matt. 20:7, "and whatsoever is right,
that shall ye receive."
Matt. 20:16, "for many be called,
but few chosen."
Matt. 20:22, "and be baptized with
the baptism that I am baptized with"
Matt. 25:13, "wherein the Son of Man
cometh."
Matt. 27:35, "that it might be fulfilled
which was spoken by the prophet They parted my garments among them and
upon my vesture did they cast lots"
Mark 6:11, "Verily I say unto you,
it shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment,
than for that city."
Mark 10:21, "take up the cross."
Luke 1:28, "blessed art thou among
women"
Luke 4:4, "but by every word of God"
Luke 4:8, "get thee behind me Satan"
Luke 4:18, "he hath sent me to heal
the broken hearted"
Luke 11:2-4, "Our ... which art in
... Thy will be done, as in heaven so in earth... but deliver us from evil"
John 1:27, "is preferred before me"
John 3:13, "which is in heaven"
John 3:15, "should not perish"
John 11:41, "from the place where
the dead was laid"
John 16:16, "because I go to the Father"
Acts 10:6, "he shall tell thee what
thou oughtest to do"
Acts 15:18, "Known unto God are all
his works"
Acts 20:24, "But none of these things
move me"
Acts 23:9, "let us not fight against
God"
Rom. 8:1, "who walk not after the
flesh, but after the Spirit"
Rom. 13:9, "Thou shalt not bear false
witness"
I Cor. 6:20, "and in your spirit which
are God's"
I Cor. 11:24; "Take eat... broken"
II Cor. 10:4, "but mighty through
God"
Gal. 3:1, "that you should not obey
the truth"
Eph. 5:30, "of his flesh, and of his
bones"
Phil. 3:16, "let us mind the same
thing"
I Tim. 6:5, "from such wthdraw thyself"
Heb. 7:21, "after the order of Melchisedec"
I Pet. 1:22, "through the Spirit"
I Pet. 4:14, "on their part he is
evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified"
I John 4:3, "Christ is come in the
flesh"
I John 5:13, "and that ye may believe
on the name of the Son of God"
Rev. 1:11, "I am Alpha and Omega,
the first and the last"
Rev. 5:14, "him that liveth for ever
and ever"
Rev. 14:5, "before the throne of God"
Rev. 21:24, "of them which are saved"
Jesus Christ says, in Luke 4:4, ".
. . It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY
WORD of God." But not according to the NIV! In fact, the NIV even "TAKETH
AWAY" the last half of Luke 4:4 - "BUT BY EVERY WORD OF GOD"! And Jesus
Christ was quoting Deuteronomy 8:3 to Satan! Does the NIV PERversion seriously
think the Lord Jesus Christ does NOT know Duet. 8:3??? “
Many other things can be said to discourage
the use of the NIV. There are many Scholars’ that could point out
errors as well. This work above shows how you can find many things
with such little work!
If you are using the NIV consider destroying
it or using it for purposes other than teaching and bible study unless
you are using it as a tenth or eleventh selection choice in personal studies.
Be honest with the above information!
